Dr. Brian Bohner

Dr. Brian Bohner is board-certified in sleep medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) and with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He also is certified with ABIM in internal medicine, pulmonary and critical care medicine. He earned his medical degree from Penn State University College of Medicine and completed his specially training at USAF Medical Center Keesler and Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans.  He provided pulmonary and sleep medicine services during his career in the United States Air Force at Carswell USAF Base Hospital where he served as the intensive care unit and sleep center director.

Dr. Bohner is the founder and president of Sleep Medicine Associates of Maryland (SMAM), one of the largest sleep medicine practices on the East Coast.  He is also a founding partner of Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates of Baltimore (PCCAB) and currently serves as the managing partner of the practice.  He is medical director of the Central Maryland Sleep Center in Towson and MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital Sleep Center in Baltimore.  He practices pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Maryland Saint Joseph’s Medical Center and sees pulmonary and sleep patients in PCCAB’s Towson, Maryland office location. PCCAB is actively involved in sleep pharmacologic and CPAP research.

Dr. Bohner is currently recognized as a “Top Doc” in Sleep Medicine by Baltimore Magazine for the most recent 11 consecutive years.  He is a past president of the Maryland Sleep Society, and in 2018 was awarded the society’s Distinguished Service Award.

Dr. Bohner has been invited to present at local, regional, and national sleep meetings. He also travelled overseas to provide sleep medicine courses to several international medical schools. His academic focus has been on providing highly successful treatment to patients utilizing a unique educational product, followed by a customized treatment approach for each patient.

Dr. Bohner lives in Sparks Maryland with his wife Wendy and son Justin.  They enjoy traveling and managing a small animal farm.  In the Sleep Academy series, you will be introduced to a different member of the farm at the end of each session!
